Custom Model Horses
My prices are low because I'd like to get my work out there and circulating. I would personally rather get a large customer base and keep them coming back then have just a few people buy one time. (for examples of my work, please look at the Gallery) My work has been successfully photoshown for about 5 years and has done well in the one live show I know it's been in. I guarantee complete satisfaction with your order, or I will refund the entire price to you minus shipping costs. During the customizing process, I would be more than happy to send you updates on your model's progress, please just ask. Pictures are nice, but not necessary unless it is a difficult paintjob. I will begin prepping/painting once I get your model, but I will not send it to you until I receive the full price. I will do time payments -please contact me if you need to do them! If you default on the model or back out after beginning time payments, I will not refund any money you're already paid and I reserve the right to finish the model and sell it to recoup my costs. Any model painted by me is guaranteed for life! If it ever has problems with it's finish or requires to be touched-up, I will do the work for free. This guarantee is invalidated if anyone else modifies the finishwork in anyway.
Win a free model in 2009! I would love to hear from anyone who owns a model I've painted , especially about how they are doing in the showring! To promote this, if you take a model I've customized to a show and let me know how it places, you will be entered into a drawing to receive a free customized model from me at the end of the year. To be entered, please email me with the show's name, where it was held, the model's placing in classes (number of total models in the class is great info but not required), your name and contact information.
Quality Customizing at Affordable Prices
I specialize in Stablemate and smaller size horses, since I love the challenge of working on small models! I am accepting custom jobs right now and specialize in pinto & appaloosa patterns (although I also do solid colors). I will not do any remaking on custom orders, since I don't feel that you and I would have the same ideas for the model. I use both acrylics and pastels to get a very rich paintjob. If you're interested, please e-mail me with the details of what you'd like to have done and I can give you a very reasonable price! Erin Lay
My prices are very reasonable and they change depending on the complexity of the pattern and what you would like done to the mold itself, plus the actual size of the model. Stablemates/Chips are no more than $30, Micro Minis/smaller are no more than $25. Please email me for an accurate price quote, as these are just ballpark figures. Trades are considered for models on my Want List.
- Painted on horseshoes/nailheads or epoxy horseshoes are available for a small extra fee.
- All models are covered with several coats of Krylon Matte Spray to protect their finish and eyes are glossed as part of the price.
- Prep work such as removing seams/logos, sanding/smoothing the mold, applying a base coat, etc. are included in the price.
- Carved ears and any raised hooves, plus carved heel bulbs on any hoof on the ground are included in the price.
- All my custom work is currently done in acrylics, pastels and/or etching, depending on what a particular model needs to bring out it's best features.
